There seems to be a bit of snobbery about Bremont partnering with Signet, but personally don't see the issue.
Went to the Bremont store in Manchester yesterday and thought it was great, if you didn't know the brand and you saw the boutique you would instantly be impressed and have a good impression of the brand.
I'm not sure of the ownership model of this store, but not sure it makes a huge difference. Its like not driving an Ferrari, because they are under the same ownership as a Fiat
As for Ernest Jones in Manchester it's good enough for Omega, Cartier, Zenith, Breitling and Glashutte Original. Regardless of this to me there is one major issue with the Bremont boutiques, their prices are fixed, they might throw in a few freebies but while you can readily get discounts elsewhere I would never purchase from there... it makes no sense
Can they survive of sales from people who will pay full RRP? perhaps some people are oblivious that they can be found cheaper elsewhere? And perhaps it is part of Bremonts strategy to eventually control points of sale so they can't be had below RRP.
The Manchester boutique is owned and operated by Bremont.
I'm really happy to see Bremont open new boutiques and partner with other jewellers, as the brand then becomes more widely known.
More stores can't be a bad thing.

I've commented on this on another forum. I whole heartedly believe that we should pay full rrp for everything we buy and especially watches. For some reason we in the UK have a built in sense that we should never be paying full price. I think that it comes from a history of haggling for everything and constant sales. I completely believe that if everything was full price and the only thing that dealers could compete on was customer service, then in the long run we would all benefit. We wouldn't even lose out financially as I'm sure that manufactures and dealers build in profit margins expecting to have to offer a discount. If they know they'll get full rrp then they won't need to put in a 'discount margin'. I also think I'm correct in saying that all manufacturer boutiques either shouldn't or won't offer discounts. The ones I know certainly don't and I'm led to believe that Rolex AD's would even laugh you out of the door if you suggested it.
As for the snobbery, that's the watch industry as a whole. You don't really think that people buy Rolex because their watches are exponentially better built than a Bremont based on their selling point? I'm even told that the big brands 'control' where the stands are in multiple brand stores so that they're not next to certain other brands. If we all wanted a durable, good looking watch that could accurately tell the time we could get one for a fraction of the cost of a Longitude for instance but people will buy an expensive watch because they like it, in many cases want to show it off and if nothing else, like the idea of a high end watch on their wrist. Those last two could easily be placed in the 'snobbery' category.
which does separate it from the others in this thread if that's true. The other newly opened boutiques are owned by Signet but operated by BremontOriginally Posted by Jenks78

Popped up to the Bremont Boutique in Bluewater, Kent today.
Met some of the guys who work there, very nice knowledgeable & helpful people. I highly recommend a visit if you are up that way.
Tried on the Blue & Black MBII's, very nice couple of watches & probably my next Bremont purchase.
Also had a nice bottle of ale whilst I was there.

I thought the boutique was very good J, very well laid out & the staff were very knowledgeable & helpful.
I did mention the forum & was told they would take a look, so fingers crossed.
I was very impressed with the MB II, it was a very good fit & I thought looked very nice on my wrist.
Now blue or black, GMT or not, questions, questions. I do think it will be my next Bremont though.![]()
Black face with orange barrel and no GMT. The odd thing with the MBII is that it looks quite ordinary when you compare it with some of Bremonts other offerings but once you put it back on your wrist, you start to wonder why you ever took it off.
edit: intriguing that they have two portable fire extinguishers very close to the bar, too much flammable liquid perhaps?![]()
