On behalf of Alt1tude forum, we are deeply saddened over the recent passing of Simon Cudd.
Simon was well liked and respected by all he met. For many years he worked in several spaces within the watch industry, and was an ever present figure at trade shows and online via his social media channels. His unique style was always classy and colorful, which reflected his bright and vibrant personality.
When Alt1tude was founded by Piers Berry in 2011, Simon was one of the first members of the forum. He helped to create and photograph interesting Bremont related content when the brand was in its infancy.
More recently, Simon shared with all his friends and followers the unfortunate news of his illness with an aggressive form of cancer. As he publicly chronicled his battle, Simon often spoke of his desire to be an advocate and fundraiser for those living with cancer, and he specifically felt that Maggie’s was a most worthy charity that helped him immensely over the last year.
As you may recall, Bremont often donate a portion of watch proceeds to chosen charities for their Limited Edition releases. Walking with the Wounded UK were the recipient of funds during the original SE release in 2014.
During the recent launch of our SE301 project, Bremont had agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds from each watch sale to benefit a charity of our choice. We felt strongly that Simon Cudd would be the ideal recipient of those funds. After reaching out to Simon and his family over the last few weeks, we have agreed that it would please Simon to be a part of this gift. Therefore, we are honored to announce that Bremont and Alt1tude will be donating those proceeds from the SE301 sales to Maggie’s of Oxford, in honor and memory of Simon Cudd.
