    2018 Limited Edition Launch

Hi All, Received my invite for the 2018 LE launch event.

Given the location, the design of the invite and the sharp and pointy reference reference it not too difficult to guess the subject of the theme this year.

Who's going to the event and does anyone fancy meeting up at the event. I went to the launch last year of the 2018 but didn't find anyone from the forum.

    Clive

    Hi Clive
Mine must still be in the post! On a more serious note I have never understood the criteria by which invitations are sent out, enjoy the event though.
    Cheers
    Gavin

Without receiving an invitation, could you let us know what you "believe" the LE edition is all about Clive?

    I'll be there.

From Clives clues, I have an idea what the theme might be.

Its obviously going to be something to celebrate 100 years of British Airways. That's pretty much the only historical event that would fit for 2019.

    Likewise Gavin.

I have seen the invitation though, and can say I believe it’ll be something to do with ‘Speedbird’ and their fastest aircraft..

(Does that count as a cryptic clue?)

"100" years of BA or 50 years since Concorde first flew. Either would seem a bit odd for me, but particularly the latter. A watch to celebrate 50 years since the first flight of a plane that flew for 34 years and hasn't flown for 16.

But then Omega will be going nuts on the Speedmaster next year and Apollo flew for 5 minutes in comparison.

Wow Jake, that’s certainly a call sign that has stood the test of time!

Absolutely. Quite incredible to think it was chose by BOAC in the early thirties!

I hope that you’re well Gavin. It seems quite a long while since our road trip for the DH88 launch!
