Thread: Laco anyone?

  1. #11
If you love the look then you should take the plunge! Worst case scenario is you'd have to flip. Honestly I think my experience was doomed from the start after having the pleasure of owning the Glashutte flieger.

Never owned a Laco but have had a few Stowa watches which I have been happy with.

I'm sorry for asking, but what is a Laco?

I have experienced and heard of dozens of brands, but this name has left me shaking my head

Here's the website, Topcat - they're a popular German watch brand: Laco Uhrenmanufaktur

    Thanks for that link Vipereaper30.
Some great historical info that made for an interesting read.
    Just motivates me more....
I find the blue hands interesting. The Augsburg model doesn't have them whereas other models do, so in keeping with a more accurate representation I may have to look at something like the Muster ( I want a 42mm).

Not affiliated at all with this sale but it's another option: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-...2625874?page=1

I've owned a few Fortis watches and they are very good for the $$

I'm a big fan of Fortis. I borrowed a friends B42 Pilot Chronograph for a while once, I was very impressed - good quality, robust and rather cheap for what it was. No wonder they're favoured by the Russian space programme, really.

Yes a nice piece in the same vein, but it doesn't reach out and smack me like those vintage fliegers.
