Jeremy, you would need to be living over here to understand the riddle - even I needed the help of Google so underwhelmed am I by reality TV!

I watched it and was forced to sneak downstairs to break into my hidden stash of Aldi Battenberg (the best one on the market IMO)

I'm a Battenberg connoisseur and it is amazing - and only 69p yesterday!

That, and M&S cherry cake….. although Mrs Oracle makes the best chocolate cake in the world, sadly last seen about 6 years ago (the cake - not Mrs O, who was last seen this morning!)

It's a programme on the BBC called Great British Bake Off, Jeremy.

Basically it's a cake baking contest between a number of members of the public, which is compered by an unfunny female comedy duo (one of whom is a lesbian) and two expert judges in Mary Berry, a 79 year old food writer and Paul Hollywood who is a professional baker and chef who had an affair with his co-presenter Marcela Valladolid on The American Baking Competition.

NOW you understand why we watch it!
