You’re correct that it’s a Merlin, but I believe that is a Mk. 1 Spitfire.

This is for a few reasons: the propellor fitted appears to be a ‘thin’ blade - more akin to the early Spitfires, and the small blister you see below the exhaust stack appears to be too elongated, and indeed the ‘wrong way around’ for a Hurricane.

Looks like you were right, though!! I know nothing about planes, but like everyone else, I love the Spitfire. In a similar way to steam locomotives, there’s something very alive about them. Every time I hear or see one go by (steam train or Spitfire) I get goosebumps. An appropriate reaction for an engineer, I think.

Gorgeous, Normington - a great trio, and the Endurance looks right at home, the strap really suits it.

How’re you finding the SE301 on a bracelet by the way? I’ve been tempted by one for mine.

It’s fantastic. Practically lives on my wrist, now. It makes me feel sort of bad for the Kingsman.
