The day has arrived - the 1st of December - which means one thing: the new Alt1tude Forum Special Edition is almost upon us!

Over the next 12 days, December 1-12, will we be teasing out features of the latest Alt1tude Forum SE on all our Social Media channels, alongside running some competitions over on Instagram to win some hard to find Bremont goodies!

The finished watch will be released on Monday 12th December when pre-orders will open! We invite everyone to get involved across Facebook, Twitter & Instagram (@alt1tudeforum) and of course here, with the teasers and competitions, and hope you will love the finished product as much as we do!

So: You may have noticed a bit of a curveball already - the presence of an inverted red triangle on the ceramic bezel!

Never before seen on the S301, only ever on the S300/BK, it seemed like a very popular feature from the concept thread ran on the forum! Therefore, we decided that it was a 'must have' feature, adding a splash of colour and also helping contrast with features that will be released over the next week or so...!

Alongside the reveal today, we're running the first competition over on Instagram (@alt1tudeforum)! If you fancy like winning a rare Bremont cap, head on over there to see what you have to do!

That’s right - there’s no date!

You asked for it, and therefore the SE301 will be the first ever Supermarine series watch made by Bremont that does not feature a date window! This gives the watch a pretty unique new, symmetrical, and uncluttered look which we think you’ll like!


How’re we doing so far? All opinions and input are welcome, as this is watch wouldn’t have happened without everyone here!

I'll be honest, I didn't want this SE to be based on the S301 and I would always prefer a date on a watch BUT this is looking pretty good so far :D

Thanks for that, Steve! I can honestly say that the process of producing a watch that we felt like our core audience would appreciate, and that was also feasible for Bremont, was more challenging than I anticipated! In the end we have the SE301 coming to fruition, and I can only hope that the end product is reflective of cumulative Alt1tude community’s liking!

Thanks Steve - your kind words are appreciated. As Jeremy says, the process of designing the SE301 was a lot more tricky (and at times, frustrating!) than I think we had imagined.

I hope you’ll like the finished product on the 12th - it really is something quite special for a Supermarine-based watch.

Day 5 is upon us! Time to flip the watch over and take a look at the back...

As you can now see, we are making a very limited quantity of the SE301. In keeping with the original Altitude SE, just 30 of the SE301 will ever be made! Adding to this, everyone that orders their watch on 12/12/18 will get first dibs at picking a serial number of their choice!

Each watch will be individually labeled 01/30, 02/30 etc and this is engraved on the caseback along with the SE301 name.

'Why the space on the edge of the caseback?' we hear you say? Well, a unique feature we think that you will like has also been catered for: a space for a personalised custom engraving! This is limited to 8 characters, but potentially more in certain circumstances. This will ensure no two watches will be the same, and it can truly be unique to you!

Hey everyone - day 6 has arrived.


We have something a little different today. The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed the large blank space in the middle of the caseback yesterday..

...that was part of the teaser! There will be something in the middle, but what will it be?


We’re running a competition until 12-midday UK time tomorrow (December 7th) to see who can guess right! All correct guesses from across our social media will be entered in to a randomiser and the winner will receive a pair of Bremont cufflinks!

Lots of idea but none that I think are correct. Is it simply ALT1TUDE as in the small circle on the picture above.

The other ideas I like more are an anodised back or a display back with a rotor with Felix and/or ALT1TUDE on it but I don't think it's either of those.

Day 8...

So, today, we’re talking about some of the inspiration behind the design of the SE301 - namely the caseback, and the inclusion of the Broussard.

As seen in schematic form on the caseback of the SE301, the ‘Bremont Bus’ is an Avions Max-Holste Broussard.

Manufactured in 1960, the ‘Bus’ can be seen regularly in the hands of Nick and Giles throughout the UK, at events such as Flying Legends. Recently, too, it has been transformed in to a flying billboard for the film ‘Venom’ starring Tom Hardy. It was repainted by Adi Granov in to a striking, and somewhat different, black scheme!

The Broussard is also where Felix - known to this forum as the mascot of Alt1tude - can be seen on the side of the aeroplane, holding his customary ‘bomb.’ As for whether Felix appears on the SE301, you’ll have to wait and see...

Day 9 is a BIG feature!

We are happy to finally share the hands on the SE301, which are totally unique to the Supermarine range, and being made specifically for this project!

You asked, we delivered: a Supermarine with blued steel hands!

Blueing the hands is a complicated and expensive process, which gives the watch a different look every time the light catches the hands. It is something rarely seen outside of the Bremont flagship Limited Editions, so seeing them at this level and on the SE301 is a real treat!

We also decided to include a red tip on the seconds hand, helping to balance and contrast with the colour of the vintage lume - along with the blue of the hands, we think this works very well.

With one more big reveal to go, we hope you like the unique hands (and the overall watch!) as much as we do!

It just seemed a tenuous link. The Supermarine on the original is part of what the watch is about. The Bremont bus has been used most recently as part of the promotion for the Venom film which in turn is used to promote the U2/Jet and not the Supermarine. It's also just, from my perspective at least, a personal hobby for the brothers and so could just has easily have been a Porsche 911 graphic on the back (not an E-type for obvious reasons). Even though it's mentioned up thread I still couldn't tell you what type of aeroplane it is. if there's more significance than what I'm aware of then may be that could help.

I’m guessing that Felix was chosen as the forum mascot as he is on the Bremont Bus - I don’t know where else he is to be found in relation to Bremont other than on there. So having the plane that the forum mascot was displayed on seems the perfect fit.
You suggest the Supermarine plane on the case-back was a good fit on the core range Supermarine watch as it sat within the theme of the watch, which again I think the Broussard does here, as it is a Bremont forum watch based on a Supermarine. So the design element of having an aircraft on the case-back remains but the aircraft has been changed to fit in with Bremont as a whole rather than an individual model.
And the fact that the Broussard has been rebranded for the Venom movie, for me, just reinforces the importance of this aircraft to the brothers and the brand.

As we approach the launch date of the SE301, we wanted to share another bit of inspiration that helped to guide some of our design cues on this project.

Over the years that Alt1tude has existed, we’ve seen hundreds of unique Bremont watches made, both for the consumer market and for various military squadrons. Although there are many stand-outs over the years, one watch that seemed to resonate to wide appeal from our membership is called the Dragon Lady. The Dragon Lady is an ALT1-C based chronograph that features a black dial, vintage lumed indices, blued steel hands, red accents on the second hand, grey text, with a matching grey schematic or the U2 spy plane.

It was intended to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Lockheed Martin U-2, and limited to 60 pieces. Unfortunately for most, in order to purchase the Dragon Lady, you must be a verified member of a U2 crew, making it essentially unobtainable for the fans who came to appreciate it.

Suffice it to say, we attempted to recreate some of the design cues of the Dragon Lady, but on the 40mm, 3 hander frame of the S301. We are very pleased with the result and think it will be a stunner in the flesh in just a few short months! Hopefully these photos of the Dragon Lady give you an idea of what our SE301 will look like once it goes into production!

Having just spent 3 years working alongside a U2 sqn It pains me to say....I didn’t see a single pilot wearing a Bremont. The majority seemed to go for the good old faithful G Shock. I couldn’t comment for when they are flying as we were never present when they crewed in/out. People often go on about this aircraft for various reasons but the two things that always stood out to me where the unbelievable rate of climb combined with the noise. On a par with a couple of Tornado in re-heat half way down the runway, it shook the building.

The Bremont bus has been used most recently as part of the promotion for the Venom film which in turn is used to promote the U2/Jet and not the Supermarine. It's also just, from my perspective at least, a personal hobby for the brothers and so could just has easily have been a Porsche 911 graphic on the back (not an E-type for obvious reasons). Even though it's mentioned up thread I still couldn't tell you what type of aeroplane it is. if there's more significance than what I'm aware of then may be that could help.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the idea, it's just not something that particularly stands out to me either.

It’s a shame that you consider it a tenuous link, and at the end of the day, if that’s how you see it I doubt much could be said that will change your mind!!
Personally, I think it’s a perfect match for the watch and see the link no more tenuous than having Felix on there.
I’m guessing that Felix was chosen as the forum mascot as he is on the Bremont Bus - I don’t know where else he is to be found in relation to Bremont other than on there. So having the plane that the forum mascot was displayed on seems the perfect fit.
You suggest the Supermarine plane on the case-back was a good fit on the core range Supermarine watch as it sat within the theme of the watch, which again I think the Broussard does here, as it is a Bremont forum watch based on a Supermarine. So the design element of having an aircraft on the case-back remains but the aircraft has been changed to fit in with Bremont as a whole rather than an individual model.
And the fact that the Broussard has been rebranded for the Venom movie, for me, just reinforces the importance of this aircraft to the brothers and the brand.

Not at all mate, you are entirely entitled to your own view and opinion. Beauty being in the eye of the beholder and all that!!
The other difficulty of course with the written word, is that it's very difficult to convey ones opinion with the intended sentiment behind it.
No-one here expects everyone to love everything that's done and your view on this is entirely valid, I was just stating my view! Doesn't make either view any more correct, just simply different!!
And, yes, even though the Bus has been repainted, I still feel the link to it is still valid. It shows the connection to the aircraft as a major advertising tool for the brand as a whole. If you feel it's not, because of the repaint, then you could make the same argument for Felix. He's no longer on the plane so should he be considered for the watch if, indeed, he is on it?!
