As expected following Bremont ambassador Ben Saunders’ record breaking expedition across Antarctica Bremont have announced the release of the Bremont Terra Nova.

Ben has worked with Bremont since 2010 and leading up to the Scott Expedition and his focus was mainly on the weight of the watch, making it the first Titanium watch Bremont have ever produced.

Based on the S500, the Terra Nova is made in Aircraft Grade Titanium, and has been tested against enormous extremes of temperature.

The watch features a GMT function and in Ben’s case was a useful compass to point to the South Pole if the GMT hand was pointed to the sun.

This photograph is of the watch worn by Ben Saunders – hence the engraving, but each watch will have the ‘there and back’ logo.

At first look this is of course very similar to the S500 and S2000, but when held the weight is undeniable. This watch is so much lighter than its stable mate and with such a great back story I think it is sure to be a very popular piece in the collection. The Terra Nova will be retailing at around £4,500 / $6750

Everything seems to say it's based on the 500 not the 2000 which is good for my skinny wrists :) but not so good for my pockets, I think I need it to be sub 4k for me to pull the trigger but I'm sure they will get snapped up very quickly even at that price.

My mistake guys! there were discussions between the two initally and I went in to autopilot -please please excuse this error. The watch is based on the S500 as it needed to be lighter for Ben - hence the 500m water resistance. Sincerest apologies.:o

It is considered a LE- 300 pieces!

Ahh, I'd missed the 300 pieces part - think I may have found the basis for my next argument at home about 'priorities'!

PHOTO REQUEST: can we see a Terra Nova side to side with a S500? I'm curious to see if there is a color difference in the titanium case vs the steel?

At present there is not a Terra Nova in the office, but as soon as it returns from Basel I will take a picture. There is however very little difference in the colour - the only noticeable thing is of course the weight of the watch.

That's pretty impressive that they could keep it so similar. I had shyed away from the Terra Nova due to not liking the darkish look of many titanium pieces, but if it's the same color, that makes it much more appealing in my eyes!

+1 Glad it is based on the S500 - the S2000 is just too big for my wrist. Can't wait to see this watch in person.

It IS based on the s2000 isn't it? Not the 500.
Too big for me too, sadly.

Wow... love at first sight for me!!!

I wonder if the titanium will be as hard as the hardened steel. Any idea anyone?

Jim, its actually based off of the S500 at 43mm. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi Serena,

When will these hit the Boutique? Will there be a bracelet option?

Thanks

Hi Ben, Bremont are looking at a summer release date for the Terra Nova and there will be a Titanium bracelet in due course.

Hope that helps!

I don't understand why I can't be told what number I have secured.

Little bit disappointed on this one to be honest.

Who did you buy through? I went with Jura Watches and after the first low number requests were knocked back, they asked for 5 preferences for numbers that I would want.
