I am very proud, and extremely honored to finally present the BREMONT ALT1TUDE Special Edition Chronometer. Please note this is special member only preview prior to the watch being released on the 1st March.

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii229/piersberry/Photobucket%20Desktop%20-%20Pierss%20MacBook%20Pro/export/bremont-alt1tude-limited-edition-dial.jpg
Influenced by the dial of the Bremont U2 and MBII, this unique dial will be produced in metalic anthracite. It features a 'Professional' style dial ( No hour numerals) and is the first Bremont pilot styled watch in this style. The dial features a larger Bremont logo at 12H and the lucky mascot at 6H.
The dial will feature pure white markers, which will illuminate blue with SuperLumiNova.
Finishing the dial is a MB1 yellow hand and yellowed numerals on the rotating bezel.

About the Charity

Walking with the Wounded is a UK based charity which funds both the re-training and re-education of wounded servicemen and women with the aim of helping them find long term employment after they have left the Armed Forces.

About the mascot
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii229/piersberry/Photobucket%20Desktop%20-%20Pierss%20MacBook%20Pro/export/lucky-mascot.jpg
This watch featured an adaptation of the famous lucky mascot which has been used on military aircraft since the 1940s. As a result of it appearing on the Max Holst “Broussard” aircraft flown by Bremont founders, Nick and Giles English it has been adopted as an unofficial fan symbol for the brand and makes it’s debut on the ALT1TUDE Special Edition.
I'd personally like to thank everyone who has been instrumental in getting this project off the ground and I am extremely pleased with the end result. I hope there is something in this watch that everyone likes and with a choice of treatments this offers variety of choice! There will be a separate post on the rational of the design posted after this.
This watch will be available to reserve from March 1st 12:00 GMT onwards at a special URL: alt1tude.bremont.com/se (http://alt1tude.bremont.com/se)

Anthracite barrel should work really well. I like yellow but think it might have been a bit much.
That look really cool very subtle styling well done to all.

50% upfront, 50% when the watch is ready to be shipped (Est.May / June) . Bremont will likely invoice any people who reserve the watch for the first 50% over the next 2-3 weeks (They'll do it as a batch).
The watches are likely to be made in two batches - the first 20, then the final 10 - this is dependent though on how quickly we (and if..) reach 30 ;-)
Any idea on the lead times for manufacturing? Are we talking 4 weeks? A few months?
( As stated above, May-June for production of the first batch - ALT1TUDE )
It will be DLC on black vintage for me! :)

I'm very impressed with this Piers, well done for developing something so unique and good looking. I'm sure a huge amount of work has gone in to developing it. I especially like the grey dial contrasted with the white hour markers and yellow numbers; it's not too busy and works really well - I can see Bremont introducing this 'professional' style design across some of the current range as it looks so good. It's a very special Limited Edition in my opinion.
If I could afford one I'd be after the DLC version for sure. I look forward to seeing some wrist shots from the lucky members that manage to get their hands on one. I'm not going to be jealous in the slightest!!! ;)

Piers, the watch is super cool. The lack of yellow barrel keeps it stealthy and understated, which is a good thing. My only dissapointment is that I wont be able to fund one. Well done, all around.
If I were to get one, I think I'd go SS because i dont have an MBII, but both look great, and I feel like the DLC is closer to the original concept we had in mind. Would be a tough decision. Would definitely get it on a black vintage though!
For those of you who are ordering, please share which model you will purchase. Am interested to see the tally.

To my eyes its a superior version of its line superiors from which it came. Showing the cool simplicity of the U2 with the unfolding drama of the MB. I would have been very tempted had I the funds.

BTW would love to see the other strap options. :)
Straps should be listed in the details they are:
- Black leather (with white stitch)
- Black stitchless vintage style
- Dark Grey leather ( as in ALT1-Z dark grey strap)
I personally think the grey strap would look best, for the purposes of the visuals black worked best, but I think when I get round to photographing the watch then grey will win as it will compliment the watch face better.
I'm sure most people will of course opt for the vintage style black.
The watch will also come with Bremont canvas / nato style - black with white stitch.

Piers, I just wanted to say what s great job you have done with this. I've been a long time lurker on here but have been avidly following this project for a while now. Needless to say I will be keeping an eye on the website at 12 tomorrow :-) I'm being tempted by the dlc with vintage black although I love the contrast of the anthracite dial and steel. I know its very subjective but do you have any views about this having seen more than just pictures?

Hi Piers, I'd just like to say well done on making this happen. It's a great achievement to get from the original idea to reality and I can only guess how much effort you put into the process in the background.
To top it all off, it's a great looking watch and I think some of the other LE/SE 'kids' will be very jealous...

Hi Piers,
I've been following this keenly since day one, as you know. Just wanted to join the group in offering my congratulations to you on this project. The designs are absolutely fantastic. I love the classic look and the colour choices couldn't be better in my mind. I love the anthracite combination of the dial and barrel along with the hints of yellow. Would love to add this very wearable specimen to my collection. I have some hard thinking to do tonight, as the cost is going to prove a challenge under current circumstances.
Regardless, fantastic job; and my thanks to you for putting in the massive effort to pull this off.

Very nice. Very tempting indeed. Glad I have the day off tomorrow to decide
Piers--I like it. I especially like the very clean dial without numbers. Really brings out the Bremont name and "Felix" of M.H. Broussard fame. The yellow from the MBI and style of the U2 create a nice hybrid. For those who think a little too bold, I would say the objective here is not to fall in line completely witih the "undertstated" appeal of Bremont, but rather to create a standout piece that starts a conversation and says something about the owner and their love of the brand. Well done! Nemo

Any chance you can show us what the gray strap option for the SE looks like Piers? I saw your post saying it may look best on the SE but can't find an example.
Maybe the vintage black becomes the de facto order with the watch if a canvas offering from you covers the grey market?

Piers, to make me sound like a strap novice, is the black vintage to same as the black strap I already have with my Alt1-c. If this is the case I may have to go with grey. I ask that was I only found the vintage in brown on the Bremont website.
The black vinatge is similar to the brown listed but black there a link with pic here http://alt1tude.bremont.com/forum/t1092/ hope this helps.

Boutique would be a good idea, I just see the workshop would work well, with it not available normally to the public. It would also let us see what care goes into Bremont watches and maybe see the watch makers at work. On a more serious point, I don't think I could trust myself in the centre of London with a new watch box, I think London Ale Houses might be the issue :)

Not really, more the history of the symbol as a military mascot and why it has been used by Bremont. Do remember that whilst it's based on Felix the Cat the original logo of this was created by a military person in the 1930s.
In terms of your questions: The outline version was done because the black and white version simply just looked rubbish against a dark grey dial. The direction is more a point that it was the direction I used when I first created a version of the Felix that appears on the Broussard plane (he appears in both directions but it was this angle that influenced the drawing).
The Inspiration
http://img1.pictaero.com/2011/09/02/s/134085.jpg
The first Felix I created in 2010 for a dummy t-shirt:
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii229/piersberry/Photobucket%20Desktop%20-%20Pierss%20MacBook%20Pro/export/t-shirt.jpg

Piers seems to make sense and thank you for the explanation. Still would be nice to see this explanation mentioned in the manual and to avoid people like myself believing it was taken and used from the 31st but facing the wrong way around, as I expect these watches will be around for many a year.
I was aware about the military and Bremont connection, just wasn't aware why the mascot on the watch didn't match the unit it was taken from. I understand that certain military emblems are shown in reverse on opposite side of the vehicles/aircraft as never want to be looking cowardly and pulling backwards insteard of pushing forward facing the enemy.

Hi Andy
I think on the other thread I mentioned that they were expecting the parts due in at the end of June, and the watches are due mid to end of July. However I haven't heard from Bremont generally for about 3 weeks now so will enquire again, but not until the end of the month. Sorry it's taking so long!

As one relatively new to the forum I have had much pleasure in exploring the archive and have learnt much about Bremont in the process. As a paid up member of the 'SE Owners Club' I was particularly interested to find out how this initiative came into being, how it developed and gained critical mass thanks to input from individual members and how it finally took off. I am really looking forward to receiving my first Bremont and delighted that it will forever be associated with alt1tude.bremont.com!
I too would like to be involved in some sort of event to mark the conclusion of this amazing project, I note that a visit to HQ with refreshments afterwards would be a popular option. With regard to the latter I'm up for anything, while there are bound to be some good pubs locally I have come up with a suggestion which I hope ticks as many boxes for you as it does for me.
White Waltham (EGLM) is an historic grass airfield not far from Henley, blessed with ample car parking and good catering facilities it will be well known to Nick and Giles. If the two bothers could be persuaded to position the Broussard we would be able to gather around the aircraft and toast Felix while showing off our watches in the company of like minded enthusiasts. Last but not least we will be able to thank Piers for all the hard work he has put in on our behalf - it will be a great photo op for ourselves and Bremont. Personally I cannot think of a more appropriate venue so near to HQ. In time honoured fashion I commend this to the house!!

I've hardly worn the watch, but have just noticed mine says the days in French.. Is this correct?

Most watches do this, just wind the date round and you'll see it alternates with English.
