View Full Version : Bremont ALT1TUDE SE announcement
Alt1tude
01-10-2013, 12:33 PM
Everyone,
I have a very special announcement to make:
A Bremont Alt1tude SE has been officially confirmed today, and will be available to BUY in 2013.
I will be making a more formal announcement within the next 4-6 weeks, which will detail: The design, quantity, price, deposit info and so on once these have all been defined.
Along with this announcement, I'd personally like to thank G-F for igniting this discussion, and for the rest of the members who contributed here: http://alt1tude.bremont.com/forum/t995/ which has turned a dream into reality.
I'll be opening a new sub forum for the watch shortly - We're going to take onboard all comments / wants to date and will present what I believe to be a really sought after Bremont Watch for 2013 in a few weeks time... so Watch this space!

Just dodged that bullet monkeybutton, had the funds set aseide and was thinking of wandering up to the Bremont boutique in a couple of weeks. Will be keeping the money warm in the bank and will await this SE!
This is great news, sadly with our second child about to start nursery (and I thought our mortgage was expensive), Im going to miss out on this one but looking forward to seeing the design process.
Congrats on getting this off the ground.

Hello All,
Been lurking for sometime as I don't own a Bremont - YET. But after being introduced to the company by a friend my mind is set. Deciding between an Alt1-C, MBII or waiting to see the Alt1tude SE design. The 4th is in the calendar.

ALT1-C and MBII are the two most iconic Bremont watches to get... However the new (Proposed) SE is Bremont DNA with an twist...
Either way, it's a bloody nice problem to have - Even if you don't go for the SE, I'm sure you'll be pleased with whatever else you choose!

I'm looking forward to seeing the SE, once the design is confirmed and announced will you be also showing the initial designs? It'd be great to see how you went from an idea to the final design.

This is causing me some serious concerns(!) I was just about to buy the MB11 (orange) for a birthday present to me and now I want to wait and see what the SE will look like....
But my birthday is this week so I either go without a Bremont to open until after 'the day' or stick with plan A and get the MB11 - Any chance of just one pic Piers???!! :)

SE vs Rolex 16610... that's some tough competition! Lets just say, knowing the Bremont's you already have the SE is different to both of them... so there would be enough contrast there. In fact the SE is different enough to most people's current Bremont's in some form or other ;)

I bought my Bremont U2 LE from Galio. I was assisted in the purchasing process by the charming Louise Feather from Galio (I travelled quite some miles to buy that exact watch, so no sales pressure was needed).
I think you could describe Galio's shop as 'small, but perfectly formed'.......

New to the forum. I bought an MB II about a year ago and been keeping an eye out for anything interesting from Bremont again (didn't see too much new last year after Basel). Got side tracked on a couple of Breitlings and then started lurking around the Bremont sites again, nice to see a dedicated Bremont forum as this one. I've seen some of the newer squadron LEs which peaked my interest lately.
Also been keeping my eye on Alt1tude to see what the SE will look like. Hope to get some news soon!

True story: Had a terrible dream last night. The Alt1tude SE was released and hideous. The case/dial wasn't round, but instead trapezoidal, with an odd Ploprof like nubin on the left side. Thank God it was just a dream. And yes, I think about watches (mostly this one), way too much. Carry on...

Piers, see what you (Bremont) are doing to everyone, please put us out of our misery!
Popped into the boutique on Friday whilst up in town, one luck chap in there was picking up his new Victory (the box it comes in is a work of art itself , never mind the watch) and a lovely white Solo kept calling to me so I had to exercise severe self restraint to prevent an unintended purchase but I dont know how long my willpower can hold up (history suggests not long at all)!

+1. I'm also thinking a Solo based DLC and I'm expecting to see some ALT1TUDE yellow, along with Felix somewhere - my guess is on the back.
Okay - forget it - that's what I was thinking but I started typing before Piers informed us this is the wrong line of thinking - sorry I was actually distracted by work and didn't push "post comment" until after Piers' comment was posted.

I've been thinking about a sort of hybrid case. Solo chassis, but with knurled barrel like an MBII/U2. And yeah, I get the feeling Felix will play a role. As time goes on, I keep expecting something more unique than before. Would still be happy with the aforementioned U2 based SE

I'm probably going to be way off the mark here but I think it could be based on the ALT1-Z, similar to the Special Projects of the Apache or B-2 - DLC with stylish use of yellow on the dial such as the yellow tipped hands from the Blue WT. Like I say, probably miles off but it's been a great thread and I can't wait for the big reveal.

I saw one of your straps last night at the launch in NYC. Nice kit!

Noodlefish
02-19-2013, 12:02 PM
So. What's been done?
BC-S1/F1 - nothing yet
BC-S2 - ATG SE coming shortly
ALT1-C - Leander (Ecurie = ALT1-C with internal bezel?)
ALT1-Z/P - multiple mil versions and the US Navy Test School version
ALT1-WT - nothing yet (ignoring the original mil version)
S500 - Descent LE and the SE for the North Sea divers
S2000 - nothing yet
MB2 - MB1.5 and the version for MB themselves (ignoring the MB1). Plus SEs for, e.g. Navy Trust Flight, TWG and Selfs. Plus mil versions
U-2 - the original LE (and mil versions)
SOLO / SOLO37 - nothing yet
So. If I were to do something, I'd be looking at 1) a WT SE 2) a SOLO SE or 3) an MB2/U-2 mashup.
1) The WT is a wonderful thing. I'd strip it back to a cream dial (like the ALT1-C) with anthracite sub-dials. Partner it with that thick dark, vintage brown strap
2) DLC SOLO. Change the hands.
3) SS U-2 dial with the MB case. Anthracite. Probably.

Good list Mat, and like the ideas.

How about a strap give away?!
Liking the sound of this!
I still think Felix will be a major feature of the dial possibly something like a solo with small sub dial with the bomb as the background. This would make sense for the delay as well, to whether they can use the image. Or possible something quite low key with nice felix engraved caseback in line with the North Sea one or event etched like the Victory, that would be cool?

Ok - you did a bang up job here with the hiding :-(
The only thing I can determine is that this piece is going to have a roto-click bezel since the "30" is inverted in the teaser and only rotoclick equipped watches have the inverted "30".
Other than that I can't make heads or tails on whether it's a chrono or a MB/U variant.
Do we really have to wait until the end of next week?

I think from reading the start of the thread that when Piers unveils this on the 1st March he will also provide details on how to order, which it seems is going to be directly with Bremont.
Sorry, just checked it was on another thread but here is the quote....
Not taking any names or list just yet. Process willbe;
- Watch will be presented ideally 4-6 weeks time ( or sooner )
- Interested parties, pay deposit to Bremont directly and get assigned number or choose one
- When watch is ready Bremont will contact people to collect money and ship the watches
I don't sell watches, so no sales, deposits or number allocation though me!
Hope this helps!

Ordering Process ** Update **
This is a the proposed process for the watch once it is launched. Please note that this MAY be subject to change. I will communicate this to everyone before the 1st.
1) The watch will be posted on a dedicated URL: alt1tude.bremont.com/se from the 1st March onwards. I will have a clearer idea of time nearer the day and post an update here.
2) The dedicated URL above will contain details / specification on the watch model and will contain a live update on the number of watches still for sale.
3) The process of reserving a watch will be done via a simple online form. Should you want to reserve a watch, then you will be required to fill a form with your details and specify what watch number you want. All watches will be have the Serial number: F E L I X / ## ( I.E. FELIX/01, FELIX/02 ETC). Please note that when reserving the watch, you will only be allowed to choose from numbers that are remaining. This will update dynamically as watches are reserved.
4) Once you have submitted your details, you will receive a thank you message with confirmation of your reservation. This data will then be saved in a database. Please note this system isn't going to be a sophisticated e-commerce system so there is a chance if two people are trying to order the same number at the same time then there is a chance that another number will have to be allocated to one of these people.
5) You will not be required to pay at this point, or submit ANY payment details. At a later date (In a week or so) Bremont will contact everyone for 50% payment of the watch you have reserved. If you cannot pay during this time then you will loose your reservation.
I'm making the online booking system an easy way for people to reserve their watch and any of the data received will only be shared with Bremont.
Please note, I will not take any reservations via email or PM here - If there is a technical issue then watches can be reserved to a dedicated email address and only during or after the 1st.
I want to make this as easy and fair on everyone here to reserve their watch....Let's just hope you all will like it!

Wish the LE part of it was time based verse number based. Say anyone in a two week span can reserve the watch then after that its done. I'm sure the level production will warrant it (ie bremont could set a reserve low number to warrant making it on their end) but keeps the mad rush for a limited number down. I would hope any forum member who wants one would be able to get one without having to resort to the secondhand market.

My guess is dial too, which would make it grey which is unusual for a MB. Most limited editions that I can think of are usually made up of parts that are already produced for other versions and I don't think their is a grey dialled MB.
I have a feeling it's based on a chrono maybe a P or Z.

The white section isn't curved enough to represent a circle inside the dial, so must be artwork or lettering on the dial. Probably of Felix? I do like the color scheme.

Aside from being low-res, looks mighty similar, right?

Hmmm, is the angle of the white line (turned through 90 degrees), very similar to the angle of the back of Felix's head?

Or have I just been staring at it too long? :o
That is assuming its the dial could be a really cool leather pouch

so 7:00 am EST in the US. That works. Some lucky folks will have a nice start to their day before work on a Friday!
